Slow Cooker Chili


HOW TO MAKE SLOW COOKER CHILI
How do you make this comforting slow cooked chili recipe? Dice up the onion, green peppers, and garlic into small chunks. 

In a large pan, heat some oil and sauté the chopped onion, green peppers, and garlic for 2 to 3 minutes.
Once the vegetables are caramelized, add in the ground meat and cook until it’s almost browned. 

Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of chili powder over the cooked meat and vegetables and keep cooking until the meat is fully done. You’re ready for the last steps of cooking your dinner.

HOW LONG TO COOK SLOW COOKER CHILI
Now it’s time for the crock pot or the slow cooker.
Move the meat and the other ingredients to slow cooker and stir well to combine. 

Cook your chili on low for 4 hours. Since you’re already cooking it in a slow cooker, feel free to keep in on warm after you’re done until you’re ready to eat. 

No need to rush home after work!

Ingredients
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil or other cooking oil
  • 1 Onion
  • 1 Green Bell Pepper
  • 3 Cloves of Garlic
  • 2 lbs ground beef I use 80/20
  • 15.5 oz can Kidney Beans
  • 15.5 oz can Chili Hot Beans
  • 2 14.5 oz can Diced Tomatoes
  • 8 oz can Tomato Sauce
  • 3 tbsp Chili Powder divided
  • 2 tbsp Cumin
  • 1 tbsp Onion Powder
  • 1 tbsp Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 tbsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 tbsp Salt

Instructions
  1. Dice onion, green peppers and garlic.
  2. Heat oil in a large pan and saute 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add ground beef and cook until almost browned.
  4. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of chili powder over ground beef and continue cooking until the meat is done.
  5. Add meat and remaining ingredients to slow cooker and stir well to combine.
  6. Cook on low for 4 hours.
